Sustainable Resource Processing
Going Forward
•Finalise and seek funding for promising project proposals; keep the process going to develop new ideas, the process is certainly not exhausted
• Over the coming year, establish comprehensive solid R&D programs in response to the key challenges facing the minerals processing industries
•Quickly develop support for high potential impact opportunities, such as inorganic polymers
•Aim to initiate at least two ‘2050 Scenarios’ research projects [eg. Al, Ni..] by the end of this year, as the prelude to identifying appropriate strategic breakthrough projects
•Establish over the next year the foundations of a ‘$10M per annum’ scale sustainable minerals processing thrust; this means developing exciting ideas as much as winning the support of industry and government
•Work with AMIRA as the leading global broker of collaborative R&D
•Do the necessary homework to respond successfully to the next round of CRC nominations later this year
The process of generating innovative R&D projects that are explicitly driven from the sustainable development agenda is considered very fertile
